Founded in 1924 by Ukrainian immigrant families in the Steelton neighborhood, located at 1025 N. Belle Vista Avenue.
Parishioners purchased the original property and residence for $7,500.
Designed in the Byzantine Rite architectural style with seven copper cupolas symbolizing the Seven Ecumenical Councils and the Seven Sacraments.
Plans for a larger church began in 1930, delayed by the Great Depression.
Construction resumed in 1939 under James DeBartolo Corporation; designs by Harry Napsha.
Completed in 1943; consecration delayed by World War II. Total construction costs $42,000.
In 2024, it celebrated its 100th anniversary with a new bell tower built from memorial bricks.
The parish remains active with monthly bingo, fellowship gatherings, annual pyrohy sales, cookie and kolachi bakes, the UKIE Festival, Sunday School, and St. Nicholas Day programs.
