Founded in 1861 by Welsh American immigrants, located at 220 N. Elm Street.
Originally constructed in Greek Revival style; expanded in 1887 with Queen Anne elements.
Cruciform plan, polygonal tower, dormer windows, and layered rooflines made it a landmark.
Served as cultural hub for the Welsh community; hosted Ohio’s first Eisteddfod (Welsh music festival).
Welsh parishioners were instrumental in building blast furnaces in Brier Hill and working in coal mines.
Sold in 1976; damaged by fire in 1997; demolished April 28, 2022.
Salvaged pews, woodwork, photographs, and archival records preserve its legacy.
The Mahoning Valley Historical Society continues to document its history.
